BAN FAA SAI CHILDREN’S SAFE HOUSE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
- Feeding and care of children living in dangerous situations
A home established for children from several slum areas in Nonthaburi province. Helping children who are neglected or in danger in these slum areas. The children are cared for after school, and at weekends. This care includes providing food, help with homework, extra tutoring for children needing this, and life skill classes. Plus schooling costs and school lunches are provided for 20 of these children. Plus help is given with clothing costs and costs to help them attend school camps, and camps with local churches.
NEED AND SOLUTION
We need financial assistance for the care givers and rental of this home:
- Allowance for care givers
- Equipment
- Food
- Schooling costs
ISSUES
Most of the children involved are not fed regularly, and are very small for their age.
These children have been taught that it is their fate to live in slums because of their sin in a previous life. Coupled with this they are very fearful of evil powers.
OUTCOMES
We are aiming for a safe place for children. (Many adults in the slum areas are addicted to drugs or alcohol and life can be very violent there.)
We are also providing an opportunity for children to go to school.
LOCATION
Nonthaburi province, 20kms north of Bangkok, Thailand.
