Your Pathway to the Nations

World Outreach International has programmes designed to help prospective missionaries find their calling and navigate the challenging path from home to mission field. Once they are there, WOI works to help them flourish in their ministry.
Whether you wish to join an existing ministry, start a new ministry, or become part of a pioneering Alpha Mission Team, WOI offers components to make up the ideal pathway for you.
For example, if you wanted to launch your missionary career by being part of an Alpha Mission Team, your pathway could look like the diagram below. A missionary who follows such a pathway will be well prepared for a lifetime of cross-cultural ministry.

Kairos
5-10 day course
The Kairos course will get you started on your pathway to the Nations as you study the purpose and plan of God from Genesis to the end of the age. It’s an exciting, nine-lesson, interactive course that looks at our world from God’s perspective!
I WANT TO KNOW MOREExposure Trips
7 – 10 days
WOI offers a variety of short trips designed to clarify the vision of Christians who are interested in becoming more involved in fulfiling the Great Commission – whether through supporting missionaries, praying for them or going themselves. Seldom do people return from such trips unchanged!
The Ekballō Challenge
The Ekballō Challenge is an exciting visit of seven days to an actual Least Reached People group. Your team will be guided by a seasoned missionary, who will take you on a challenging journey to see and experience things that tourists won’t.
I WANT TO KNOW MOREOther Trips to Existing Ministries
You can also visit one of the many strategic WOI ministry projects and pioneering works.
I WANT TO KNOW MOREMentor – Assist – Prepare
6 – 18 months
Be mentored by an experienced missionary through the Mentor-Assist-Prepare (MAP) programme. Some of WOI’s experienced missionaries are making time available to mentor prospective missionaries on their journey to the mission field. It is a great opportunity to have such a person as a sounding board. Their role is to help you, not to direct you.
MAP Mentors are experienced missionaries who are passionate about helping people like you fulfil God’s call on their lives, especially if you are called to take the Gospel to people who have not yet heard.
I WANT TO KNOW MOREThe Nations Course
6 weeks full-time
The Nations course is an intensive six-week course for missionaries. It is a requirement for all missionaries who wish to join WOI. This is not a Bible course, but rather it teaches best practice in missions. It is taught only by experienced missionaries, who bring practical application to all the theory learned during the course.
Many subjects are covered including: Anthropology, Cross-cultural Communication, Culture and Language Acquisition, Signs and Wonders Cross-culturally, World Religions, Strategy, Church Planting, Leadership and more.
Internships
6 months to 2 years
An intern is a prospective missionary who has committed to work alongside an experienced missionary within an existing ministry, in order to receive training and practical field experience. This differs from Alpha Mission Teams, which are teams pioneering a new ministry in an LRP.

Alpha Mission Teams
2 years
Would you too like to make Jesus known in places where people have never had the opportunity to hear of him? Would you like to be well-equipped to do so?
An Alpha Mission Team is a practical two-year missionary training programme for single people and families. These small teams of missionaries go and live amongst people who have never heard the Gospel for a period of two years. The objective of each team is starting what will eventually become a Church Planting Movement (CPM) among that people group.
